General Support Scheme

This scheme is essentially about awarding payments to assist clients to carry out essential home maintenance work, to replace or repair basic household items or furniture and otherwise to assist the purchase of equipment.

THE PROCESS

  • A home visit by an Assessment Officer
  • The client submits a completed application form, to include monthly household income and letter headed quotations from suppliers for all items requested
  • The Assessment Officer makes a recommendation for approval, if successful a cheque is issued to the client to make the purchases.
  • All items are to be receipted within a three month period.
